I think my master cylinder is probably shot but I'm not sure.

If I go ahead and change it will I get about halfway through and really wish I had never started? The brake system is completely dry right now so I won't be getting brake fluid all over the place. I'm rebuilding the calipers and replacing the flex lines currently so It would be nice to get the last piece of 37 year old rubber out of the most important system in the car.
