If you ditch the oil feed a la RSR style, you must have the pump ventilated. Gus can do this for you, but here's a twist-- now you have to change the oil in the pump periodically. I suppose you could get one of those suction things to remove the oil, but I personally would not stand for removing the MFI pump once a year, it's just too much trouble to R&R.

The Factory race teams were pulling the motor after every race (sometimes during!) so for them, no big deal. But I don't really see any advantage for a street-driven MFI car, and in fact, a lot of the heating of the pump thermostat comes from the oil, not from those flimsy paper hoses.

Long way of saying leave everything alone, replace the hose with the correct Cohline piece from our host, and call it cool.
