Mike Boldon, 62, was killed early Thursday morning when the Maserati driven by aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. slammed into his cab.
Cherry lost control when he was hit by gunfire from a black Range Rover as the two vehicles drove on the Las Vegas Strip, Metro Police said. The car crashed into the taxi, killing Boldon, 62, of Las Vegas, and a passenger in the taxi, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund, 48, of Maple Valley, Wash.
Cherry also was killed and a passenger in his car injured.
Police believe the shooting occurred after a verbal altercation between Cherry and Ammar Harris, 26, at the Aria casino valet area.
Police have obtained a warrant charging Harris, who is still at large, with three counts of murder.
