Sounds almost identical to my symptoms, only an MRI caught a herniated disc for me. Badly inflamed and impinging on my sciatic nerve. Bad sciatic pain, sometimes to the point where I can barely move.

The two biggest aids to my healing have been finding a really good physical therapist, and epidural steroid injections (not pleasant, but highly effective). I've gotta run, but can get into it more later today.
