1988 Carerra with Euro Varioram 3.6-- motor issues
Hey,
So I just bought a 3.6 conversion from a fellow Pelicaner and I have a few questions I hope y'all can help with.
1. It seems to backfire and pop a little at low RPMs, during slow shifts and upon shutdown.
2. Their is a hissing sound from the right side of the engine bay. There is some sort of cone air filter in there so it is hard to say if this is the intake because my experience with air cooled 911s is pretty limited. When you shut down the car there is about one second of hiss. I don't know if hiss is the right word. Is that the normal sound of the engine shutting down?
It has a 1997 Euro Varioram engine that was installed by instant G. They chipped it and it has a B&B headders and a McNeil muffler.
It also has a lightweight flywheel.
