I don't think that it will change much with a re-pack, because my bike had 800 miles on it when I purchased it... and the exhaust never changed it's note until I sold it... and you'd have to ask John if it has now, he is at over 36K miles now, I think.
Actually, I don't think I have ever re-packed an exhaust, period.

I have never repacked an exhaust either. However I did own a Katana with a Basani pipe that got so fricking loud I wish I had. I needed to wear ear plugs with that bike and eventually replaced the entire exhaust system.
