I had a supertrapp on my R100GS for 40,000 miles before I sold it. I repacked it at around 30,000 with a slight change in sound at idle, slightly muted, less bark under acceleration. It was a 20 min job with anti-seize paste. The supertrapp style muffler is pretty dependent on it's packing though. Can't speak to the Akropovic.
