When I bought my car, it didn't have a hole for an antenna. I didn't feel like drilling one, so I ran down to Pep Boys and spent $11 on a wire/tape antenna that runs around the edge of the windshield. It is a thin wire, with clear tape on it. If you actually tape it to the windshield, it doesn't look very good. Ask me how I know. But if you run it along the edge of the interior that butts up against the windshield, it is out of sight and works great. Doesn't that sound easier than cutting a hole in your car? Plus it's cheaper than most antennas. Works for me, I would do it again. If you try it and you don't like it, your out 11 bucks. Big deal.
