Could be they have never driven the different years and just like the last year of US 930. They also like the first years ( 75-77). How about 78s?, the least produced except for 75s and the first year to the almost identical 79 and beyond. I think many are just getting to know about these cars and are relating their other collectable criteria guidlines to 930s.

From what I read those years had the original 917 brake design that Porsche had intended. Also they have the kick the rear turbo boost. That is most of the fun of these cars. The later cars had higher compression and lower boost levels so while they were more refined they are less dramatic to drive and less like the 934 racing cars. But in the end none of this matters in the market place I think. A 930 is a 930.
