Huh!

I always depress the clutch, since I park all my cars (and Porsches I've driven) in gear, and leave them there to start the car as well, which is usually 1st, or reverse. Those usually happen to be the gears I'm going to need to back it out too, so... (I put it in the gear I'm going to need to leave when I park the car).

I didn't know there was a sensor for the clutch, are you sure it's factory? Even if so, I'll bet you the early cars didn't have'em...
