I agree that a lot of the posts on that thread were constructive. But some seemed more critical then others. And that is what I would point to as a contrast between the atmosphere of the two forums. Maybe Carl wasn't the best example to use because of the undercurrents involved.

But if I rolled out a new product and someone told me "...it has nothing to do with the function of the axle." With a banging head icon attached...

Or if I read "...what gave you the idea that this is something we need?"

In my mind that qualifies as chippy.
I could be reading too much into statements like that, but probably not.

I know we're not 13 year old girls, so it's really not a big deal -- the points raised were valid. I just appreciate I can get tactful advice, even when I'm wrong, over here.
