If your Bosch CDI works I would use it.
Here's a schematic of my setup. On the bottom it has the pin configuration. The engine harness only needs 7 pins. To make the engine harness is not difficult other than sourcing the proper colored wire in small enough quantities. It's worth using the correct wire colors IMO because a year from now when you need to make changes you'll have forgotten
I'm finishing up the rear wiring on my '78 now and I've cursed the hack mechanic that worked on that car every day since I started.
