Hesitation under heavy throttle

1974 1.8L fuel injected

I've experienced some hesitation or very short power cuts when accelerating under half to full throttle and at ~3500+ RPM. At one time after a full throttle acceleration it seemed to continue to do this ever few seconds while at highway speeds fro a bit.

I believe the points need adjusting again. I think they are around 27 or 28 degrees on a V8 scale dwell meter so that would put them at ~55 degrees. I believe 48 is correct.

My other thought is that I might be not getting enough fuel to cover the heavy acceleration/high RPM. Partially plugged fuel filter or something like that. It has an aftermarket fuel pump mounted in the front of the car.

These were just the things I could think of and I wanted to bounce them off some to see if anyone had any other ideas or thoughts on mine.

Thanks.
