In a recent trade, I received a Epiphone Les Paul Special Body (No Neck). It did have the original pickups and pickup rings but was missing the pots, switch and knobs as well as the tune o matic bridge. I took a hand sander to it and took off all the paint (It was originally black) and then attempted to stain it. The stain did not take well so I resanded it and did a sort of a silverburst to it. I was unhappy how that turned out and have about three other projects that I am working on so I thought I would pass this on to someone who would like a cool little project. In my opinion, if you took a palm sander to it and took off the paint once again, you will actually find that it has some really nice looking wood underneath. What I would recommend doing to it, would be to take it back down to bare wood and then use a dark prestained poly coating on it. This, I think would look really nice, but you can do what you want with it. I will include the pickup rings, and a bunch of screws, whammy bar springs, pots etc... that I have been saving up and no longer need. I figure that you can find a cheap neck for this and order your tune o matic and other parts from China cheap on ebay. I do have a dozen or so new tuners the i ordered a year ago in this manner and I will throw them in for free.
The first "known" guitar guy on the board to PM me their address with receive this free of charge. I will cover parcel post shipping on this to who ever wants it. I will not be able to ship out to Tuesday since Monday is a holiday. I believe that I may also have some spare humbuckers that I will also include that I think came off a BC Rich warlock. Note: The original Epiphone pickups will also come with it.
