Finally fired up the car last night, it started right up, ran for 10 seconds and died, diagnoses found the ground to the fuel pump was weak. Fixed the ground and fired it up again, set the timing by ear to keep it running and let her rip. I have two major exhaust leaks, one at the exhaust manifold to head connection and one at the turbo to exhaust pipe connection. Oh, and guess what...one big fat oil leak

...looks like it's from the front, probably the oil pump. Besides a lot of smoke and stink from all the heat resistant paint setting, it went quite well. The relocated oil pressure switch is interfering with the condensor on the distributor, stopping me from bringing the timing all the way around to the required setting, but I'll figure it out. OBTW, I have video of the first start, after the fuel pump problem. I'll post it on a site later today. You can see my ugly face in it!
