1989 Targa - Windshield Replacement....HELP

I'm in need of some help regarding a replacement window for my '89 Targa (last of the old year body style) as the original was cracked while being reinstalled. It would seem that I have a rather late year from '89 as I'm told there were a number of C2/C4 parts that started showing up on these cars.....perhaps that is my dilemma.

The original windshield reads as follows...Sigla 43 R-001047
The replacement windshield (from Stoddard) reads as follows...Sigla 43 R-001033

When going to reinstall, I'm using a Porsche gasket that matches the original - all rubber without the detail that was chrome or black inset in the middle of the piece....I've confirmed this is the proper gasket and is identical to what I removed.

The glass appears to be at least 3/4" smaller on either side at the curve and just ins't side enough to make a proper fit with the seal......my thinking after a little Pelican research is that the replacement was actually spec'd for an earlier 80's Coupe.....or very well might have fit early year '89 except that I'm told Porsche started putting NEW parts on from the C2/C4 when things started to run out in the factory.

Is it possible that my original glass was spec'd for a C2/C4 964 model and was simply being installed as an update from the factory ??

Can anyone confirm the Sigla glass part number they might have in a '89 Targa model for me as reference ??

HELP PLEASE as we are at the end of the build...
