911T valve lift/chain alignment ?s

Afternoon, Y'all.

I've enjoyed lurking for several years, as I've had an *ahem* 'long-term' project in a 1969 911T. This is my first porsche.

1. Two weeks ago I finally gained a little traction and removed the engine, put in new rings & top end. I'm finishing up and preparing to put it back in the car and as I looked over the table in my manual I found the intake valve lift listed for 911Ts didn't specify the engine types the way it did for the other models. Is it safe to assume the intake valve lift specs are the same for ALL 911Ts from all years?

I have a 901/16 in the car - an appropriate engine for a 911T - I just want to make sure I adjust the lift at TDC overlap correctly. I realize it not always ESSENTIAL to have it just right, but I like to stick to the manual since I don't don't have the level of experience many folks in this forum do.

2. If you don't replace the timing chains, or disturb them at all, is it still necessary to check the alignment of the cam sprockets with the intermediate shaft? My instinct says yes, because I removed and honed the cylinders, but I was curious.

Thanks a mill!

Ben
