Golden = almost an hour to the airport, with average traffic. It's ok, but if you want to go into town you might get sick of it after a while.
A guy your age should look in "LoHi" or "Highlands" for the best combo of commute/fun. About 35 minutes to the airport and you can walk to about a zillion restaurants and bars and there's a staggering amount of cute girls there.
Any other advice is almost surely wrong.
