I would pull the brake rotors and have a look . My guess is one of the retaining clips came off or the shoe came off the backing and is pooched. i doubt you just need an adjustment. may be a good opportinity to do a complete rear brake service.

i was surprised at how expensive a set of ebrake shoes are for our cars considering what they are . I will probably just have mine relined locally when the time comes.
