1988 G50 Needs new clutch

I had an issue with the shifter bushing and it seems I will need a new clutch along with the bushing. Over 200k miles on the vehicle, so looks like I have several options:

1. Quote was about 4000.00 to do the clutch. That I thought was high, but also included fork and any seals that need replacing while the engine is out. Not major seals but thermostat seal and maybe one other.

2. I remember reading members in the LA/South Bay area doing a clutch for about 2200 with parts and labor.

3. If I try and do it with a freund, (practicing my German, just in case) what kit should I order on PP?
