I've always thought it is silly to judge the best individual based on titles won in a team sport. The QB isn't on the field for the half of the game the defense is playing. He doesn't kick field-goals or play special teams.

Teams win titles and not one player. Any mediocre QB can win a super bowl if he plays with the leagues best D and hands the ball off to a great RB. If number of rings was the be all end all then Terry Bradshaw would be considered 10X the QB Marino was. But educated fans realize that while Bradshaw sat on the bench the Steel Curtain was playing D and when he was in the game he had Franco Harris to hand the ball to.

If you want to use titles won to judge the best of the best then save it for sports like tennis, boxing and golf. In those sports you don't spend half the game sitting on the bench when winning a title.
