Hey, spent most of the 1970s in Owatonna~! Bored most of the time. Anyway, you can remove the front plastic cover of the timing belt setup, and check the position of the balance shafts at TDC. But, I'd check those motor mounts first. I finished up an engine out reseal, head gasket, FOES, this past month, and new motor mounts, etc. There was still vibration at idle, but does go away, for me anyway, once the engine warms up, or increasing rpm's.
