That 35mm is offset, not backspacing. My 6x15's have ~36mm
offset and work well, the 205/50 kumhos might not hit the
fender in the rear even if it wasn't rolled a little (car is a '70
so no bend in the lip from the factory).
If you get 35mm in 7" width, you'll be 1/2" farther on inside
and outside, should probably work well. I'm not sure but if
you tried 49mm offset to put all the additional width to the
inside, you might run out of room.
