I took out my alternator. I was getting an occasional grinding noise. I found the rear plastic cap had fallen out. The rear bearing has a lot of play so time for a new one.
During the removal the car gods got even for my super easy motor mount change by breaking spark plug wire #6 when trying to unweld it from the distributor cap. At least I have a source for a replacement.
