Nobody needs a rebuild in the conventional sense, cranks, rods, pistons, and block rarely need anything even at high mileage, what part did your friend break?
Does he want to stick with the original 4.5L?
What sort of budget or time frame?
OTOH I know someone with a rebuilt never run 4.5L motor after he sold his 928 and the buyer didn't want a spare. PM me if that sounds like something your friend would like, and I will reply with the guys contact info.
