With no multi-tasking, it leaves much to be desired. For example:
1. Not very supportive of the current instant messaging apps, since they typically require two apps to be up and running at the same time.
2. My college professor friend wants a reader where he can cut and paste something from an e-book into a word processor for a paper he's working on. It probabably can be one but - you have to cut and paste the words, CLOSE the book app, OPEN the word processor, and then paste the block of text. Not as efficient at ALT-TAB, especially when it is necessary to move multiple blocks of text time and again.
3. From the business point of view, you need to have many apps open at once - like email, a spreadsheet, putty, and other portals into different apps.
Hate to say it, but Apple really missed it on this one -- they should have listened to the complaints about the iPhone - especially the multi-app issue.
Who wants a big, glorified iTouch? Maybe fun for little Johnny, but even he will get frustrated when it isn' easy for him to plagarize his papers....
For a little more $$, you are better off getting a MacBook Pro (I have one), or a regular PC laptop.
The iPad - something that Apple things EVERYONE wants, but nobody really needs. <-- not a good way to sell product, IMHO.
