Thanks everyone for your experiences and advise. I value all of your input.
Standing on the shoulders of greater forum members and under the tutelage of great upholstery masters, I am going to attempt to make required repairs and install seat heaters.
Since I am dealing with original seats and under a recommendation of a brother Pelican. I am going to attempt repair of the damaged seat. But before I start with leather repair, I must begin "Operation Revitalize" with the leather, or at least try.
Using a little trick I read about and was recommended by Draco, treatment with Obenauf's Leather Oil.
Clean off any grime first and then slather with liberal amounts.

Before treatment.

After 1st of many coats. Since warm weather is forecasted here locally, I am getting the first coat on by letting it sit directly in front of our wood pellet stove to get the ball rolling.
The leather repair is needed simply because I was not smart enough to take the 20 seconds to walk around to the passenger side of the car to retrieve a flight bag. Instead, Einstein here leaned in through the drivers side placing my palm on the passenger seat l/bolster. Then all of a sudden "snap" the leather tears along a seam. Needles to say I began temper tantrum that any six year old would have been proud of and after recovering from my best flounder demonstration, I went about my way cursing under my breath.
More to follow on this little experiment.
