I don't see corrosion on that caliper mount, what I see is a stress or fatigue crack caused from the drilled and tapped hole for the spindle / hub bolt. :
This could be from:
1) The machining process
2) Over torquing the bolt
3) The actual design of that mount
I have been running aluminum caliper adapter brackets in three of my cars (the longest one being 8 years) and have held up great.
