So, in my pursuit of infinite awesomeness... I'm struggling to install my BMC air filter.
I'm keen to get it installed, as it offers sooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuuch morererer surface area than the K&N I'm currently running on a Mr. Gasket tin base / cap:
Thing is, the BMC mounts directly to the metering base flange - however - there is NO FOOKIN WAY this thing is stretchin around. It's like an exact fit. There's no dilation / no effacement goin on har! YARGH!
I've leaned on it and stretched it with all my (girly) might, to no avail. Get one side on, other pops off, etc. FARQUE! Annoying!
I'm thinking maybe soak the rubber flange of the filter (I'd say rim, buuuuuutt) in hot water, then lube the flange (insert Beavis chucklez), and try again?
But, before I run out of swear words - might anyone here have experience with such and have secret magical handshake solution to afford an idjut in need I wonder???
TIA, gentz!
