Went a slightly different route on the gauges. Found two different trashed Rockster clusters. One with a tach, but speedo in kilometers and the other with a MPH speedo and no tach.
The white back housing and front black housings are trashed on both. I doubt that either unit works. Doesn't matter though, because all I need are the gauge faces and needles (appear in great shape on both units). $133 all in + my labor (of love!). Don't know when I'll get around to making the changes because we're retiring and moving from TX to NY and I need to ride the bike up there at some point. I've also got a pristine Laser Boxer II exhaust system and chip awaiting install (thanks to PeteZ).
I'm late to the R1100s party, but glad to be here. Bought the bike in SC last Dec and had a great ride back to Texas.
I'll take some pics and post a thread when I do the gauge rebuild. Probably late summer or fall.
