If you're handy with wiring and soldering-iron, look into the Megaquirt. There's a couple threads on it from beginning to end. Will take more time than bolt-ons, but also gives you the highest gains now and in the future for the least amount of $.

I have been looking into megasquirt and it seems daunting to my feeble mind. I love the fact you can tune on the fly and the flexibility is endless/not capped to current tech.
The local porsche shop owner in the next town mentioned megasquirt for my car after speaking him about my upgrade plans. If I knew how to wire it up/configure it, I would have definitely made the switch by now and dumped my 25+ year old DME in the trash with is shoddy solder joints and limited capacity.
