Don't be afraid to use heat. Remember that area routinely reaches very high temperatures thanx to the exhaust, and your attempt to remove that stud is with the head stone cold. Heat the head, not the stud; it will expand the hole and loosen its grip on the stud. My local engine builder routinely uses a torch when he's replacing studs.
