I think they are smoking crack.....what rust you see is just the tip of the iceberg. That thing has been sitting in an open field with waist high grass for years to look like that!
I bought a '76 Jaguar XJ12C that was in the same condition as this poor 912.
At first you say to yourself "that kinda looks OK, it's only a little rust", until you really get into it....then you end up running down the street screaming.
I got lucky and unloaded my mistake for a $300 profit, to a guy that owned a body shop. I gave him my condolences when he trailered and drove off with it.
Never again will anything rusty be in my garage, lesson learned with minimal pain.
