Island's got a point. A lot of the underpinnings and the engine frame are overbuilt and unnecessarily heavy. You could put a 1000 hp 800 ft/lb engine in there and be fine. That 3.2 puts out nothing in terms of power and torque requiring that type of framing. Just look at what the motor comes with factory in terms of mounting structures. 215 hp in a 3000 lb car isn't going to be terribly exciting and that's part of the reason it plows. As mentioned already, stock location with less fabrication may have been better - albeit half as cool!
