james & john, thanks for the tips... john, are you suggesting to remove the ACTUAL accelerator pedal, or just the rod that's attached to the cluster?

I haven't removed the acc pedal yet, but I think it would help clear some room out. I already shop-vac'd it to clean it out... I couldn't believe how much crud was in there.

I think I've developed semi-permanent indentations across my abdomen from the door threshold pushing in to me! I'm going to have to sneak some pillows to the garage without my wife seeing them.
