Ho hum, another FL is over.
I think it's 10 in a row for me. As usual, some great old friends showed up as well as some great new ones.
Five of us went for a ride early Saturday (if early means before noon).
A spirited ride, or at least it was for me. 15 miles from returning we came across this incident.
Occurred in front the second rider in our group, John said he almost ran over the guy's (helmeted) head as he was rolling along the edge of the road. Fortunately the most serious injury was to his pride. New rider, bike still had paper plates. We got the thing running (and steering) and on the shoulder; told him we would escort him if he wanted to limp to Potosi. But he said his three buddies should be coming back for him shortly. And we saw them coming not long after we left.
I came across them in town sometime before 6, they said everything was ok, all things considered.
I left Sunday several hours later than normal (retirement has caused some changes), had breakfast in Salem. An hour later I took a break in the woods (about the only dirt I rode for the weekend (
). I heard a couple HD's go by; I was about geared up when I heard some different bikes go by. Caught up with them in a few miles.
It was Bill and his son, I followed them to Salem (AR). How come you never rode at that pace when you were leading me to/from Potosi?
Your son looks good on an S btw. I think my kid is still a bit torqued at me for selling mine.
