Had a great time at the rally. My son and I rode our R1100S's up Saturday. We met pp member BMWR502, near Alton MO. on Hwy 19, and visited for a few, then when I started my bike, it was misfiing, but cleared up after a few minutes. Stopped at Winona for gas and it started running bad again, and we turned around to head home… but after a few miles it cleared up, so we went to the rally, and it ran great the whole way. Got to see all the regular attenders, which makes the trip worth while. Mundis and his entourage always give the camp a homey feel, and it is great to have friends like that. Jarhead rider also was there. (we bought his R1100S a year ago for my son) Keith was in his truck with a 690 Duke which he had hauled in from Oklahoma. Sunday morning as we were packing up I started my S to see how it was running and it would only run on one cylinder… You could here the spark popping to the head on the right side. Spark plug Cap resistor had failed. Keith Offered to haul my bike home for me and let me ride his Duke home, which I accepted thankfully. Keith (jarhead rider) is one of the nicest guys around… For the record I have met lots of really great people from this board over the years… I encourage people that post here to try and get out and meet one another…. You will be surprised at what a wonderful bunch of people hang out here.
My ride home.
Add Keith to the list of Pelican's that have stayed under my roof…. Steak dinner for his kindness.
