Bring some surgical tubing and a large plastic funnel. Show them how to make a funnelator. Fun for the whole family. The best part about having kids is the free pass to be one again.
As a parent, this has the added benefit of being small to carry. Consider that anything you bring up there for the kids, the parents have to haul away with them.
Just the fact that you are thinking of them and willing to go play with them in the snow, will ensure they remember this trip for a long time.
