Sorry, don't have a bucket handy, so I can't test that theory. If anybody wants to loan me their girlfriend, she'll have to bring her own vibrator (and bucket.)

This droning that people complain about is really an increase in the decibel level at a certain range of engine speeds. In a 911, somewhere just north of 2,500 can often be a problem. It begs the question of why you are cruising at that speed, but that's another argument.

There are ways to minimize this effect, that I am not going to get into here. Suffice it to say that not all mufflers are created equally and some work better than others. If you look at the shape of this muffler, you will notice that it is not shaped in a way that minimizes the cost to make it.

Another point of view, when you talk to a knowledgeable engine builder about which muffler you might want to use (in the hopes of making a few more ponies) a Monty is on their short list.

Lastly, it's made well, unlike several other brands that I could name, but won't.
