I had a hopped up early '60s 'stang in HS, with a nice 289. I put some kind of white powder coated headers on it (along with a lot of other mods) and the guy helping me get them in insisted that on the driver's side, we pound the engine compartment side wall in about 1" in one area, rather that try to pound the header flat.
