Questions on installing Pierburg pump '76 911

Looking to install the Pierburg replacement pump on my '76 since the original style Bosch is NLA.

Porsche 911 (1974-1989) - Fuel System - Page 4

Fine print says "Minor~modifications may be required for installation"...no *****. More than minor if you ask me. Look like I have to cut the wires since the new pump does not have a socket for the plug. Also, looks like some plumbing is involved.

For those who have done this I have a couple of questions....

1. Which end is the pump input? I hope its the end away form the terminals since that is the correct size for the hose from the tank

2. What do I do with these "spare" fittings? Apparently, the pump can be adjusted for 3.0 bar and 6.5 bar pressure. What pressure do I need?

3. As you can see on the original pump, the outlet side is smaller than these fittings on the Pierburg. I guess I need to find some sort of adapter to fit a smaller fuel barb?
