76 930 interior
I just got started on the restoration of my 1976 930 in Sienna Metallic last month and am now doing research on the interior of the 76. When I bought my car it came with black interior and dark blue carpet with a dark blue leather rear shelf. The COA says black leather interior. My understanding is that the early 930 came with a very dark blue carpet but the rear parcel shelf has me puzzled. Is it possible that my car was delivered from the factory with blue rear parcel shelf but the rest of the interior in black leather. I would welcome any pictures or information people have with regards to 76 930 interiors. Thanks in advance for everyones help!

Carpets would be midnight (very slight dark blue tint) but the rear shelf should be black leather (unless it had interior to sample with a blue leather shelf). 1974 was the last model year with vinyl/leather in midnight. I recommend you pick up a copy of Ryan Snodgrass's Turbo 3.0 for much more information.

Only one response and it was a brilliant one! The mystery was that there is 1974 911 in the shop as well and it had midnight interior which was confusing us. My good friend bought the Turbo 3.0 book after Ryan spent way more time than he needed to talking to us at Rennsport. I will for sure be referencing the book along the way but the fine folks of Pelican often provide the context! Thanks again!

I have these Fchat pages bookmarked under category 76 parcel -shelf:
# Incorrect grilles for leather https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/930-turbo-carrera.344030/page-289 # Rear shelf underside https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/930-turbo-carrera.344030/page-303 Have a host of other pages from same thread bookmarked on various parts of interior. Also good to keep an eye on 1977 (and other year-models) features, have been studying subtle differences between 76 and 77. It is fairly common parts have been mixed over years for many reasons, broken parts etc. Check pattern of speaker grilles, square vs. oval, and correct size, count number of holes perhaps. Perhaps final answer to your question should come from flipping over the rear parcel shelf/rear seat top, as you should find production number from there. I am looking forward to similar project as you, so interested in this subject.
