Wp0zzz...

I was always under the impression that this was only ever a RoW VIN.

Seller on BaT 87 M505/506? is stating this is a U.S. M505..

States the reason for the WP0ZZZ VIN and euro reflectors are due to european delivery??

If so I’ve just learned something as I can not imagine why anyone would want to take european delivery and end up with a WP0ZZZ VIN on a U.S. Porsche..

M505/M506 is a real stunner but never seen a U.S. Porsche with a WP0ZZZ VIN?

WP0ZZZ is the ROW designation. Maybe the car was brought over and federalized. If so you'll need all the paperwork to make registration easier as that VIN will trigger an inquiry. I went through all of that with my '85, quite a learning experience.

Yeah think this seller might not know what he is selling..

Sounds like this is a M506 not a M505.

My "505" was a european delivery car and does not carry a WPOZZZ.... VIN.

The WPOZZZ is stamped next to the smugglers box and the WPO or JBO EBO etc, depending on if it is a coupe targa cab, and is on the windshield tag on US cars. On EURO and on us SN 1987 &88 cabs it is WPOZZZ both places. On 88 & 89 cabs it is ZZZ smugglers area and EBO on the windshield tag, Very confusing. The designation on whether it is a 505 or 506 is designated in the last 6 digits of the VIN in different years, according to published data I have. The documentation and equipment if original on / with the car should hopefully clear this up.

This seller is SO convinced they have a M505 and not a M506..

I think it is due to the option that reads on the COA california equipment.

If the car is an '87 the option plate will tell you if it's an M505 or not.

Just looked @ the car on BAT. The COA states when built it is CA specs and Euro delivery. So with CA equipment it should be a 505. Looking up the VIN both US and ROW had ZZZ in the VIN. As Rarly8 posted the body ID stuff, if there, will identify.
