brake light problem
hello, I have a brake light problem on my 1984 targa. The light only comes on when I press very hard on the pedal.
I looked behind the brake pedal and near the master cylinder to find an adjustment, but found nothing. Sorry for my English because I am from Quebec

This may help:
Help, No brake lights switches seem to be located on the brake master cylinder. Is brake fluid level adequate?

The oil level was low, I added more and pumped the brakes a few times and it didn't change anything.
I may not be enough to press the pedal?

There are lots of brake light threads on here mainly because these cars weren't very sensitive to brake pressure. Some of us mounted electrical brake light switches which work very well.

Since that thread that hot euro posted also has my fix in there along with my flashing led 3rd brake light, I thought I'd give an update since it's been 3.5 years.
The brake light still comes on with a very light tap of the brake pedal, so you can tap the brakes without actually braking to let those behind you that you are going to slow down. The flashing brake light really works well too. It's a great upgrade that requires zero permanent modifications and certainly reduces the risk of being rear ended.
