Routing AFR cable
So how are you guys routing your AFR cable from the passenger compartment to the engine bay without drilling a hole?
Thanks

You need to remove your rear deck panel and access a hole on the left side where other wires at. Then you can route it under the left side rear panel and down by the lower left sill carpet. I’m sure guys have probably done it using the transmission tunnel too.

On the far, back left (on the vertical panel between the left rear seat bottom and the floor) of Turbos from the mid 1980s there is a large hole that is simply plugged from the factory with a glob/smear of sealer (it is for tubs that used Motronic FI and is the hole for its wiring harness) - you can poke a hole in the sealer, or remove that spot all together, and route the wiring through there. I removed it on mine, and then glued in a large, perfect sized washer, ran the wiring through the washer's hole (

Trans tunnel but you’d probably want to wait till you drop the engine for that access.

When I bought my Innovate lm2 several years ago it came with a cable (maybe 8') too short to reach the rear comfortably. I bought a longer cable (maybe 12') ran it under the dash, under the carpet past the driver's seat and through the hole described above. I had plenty of length to reach the O2 sensor plug keeping out of harms way.

As I mentioned the runs are in a chafe/oil/fire/heat resistant fiberglass snake skin sleeve in the eng compartment until inside the cabin. Ends of the sleeve sealed with adhesive lined double walled heat shrink.

As stated above, 84 and later have a hole in the vertical panel below the drivers side rear seat in the corner for Motronic harness. Mine just had a rubber plug.
