Speedometer reads low

Hi everyone. I bought a used 300kmh speedo a while back. Just installed it in my car and so far it reads really low. As in going 100kmh will mean just 40kmh on the speedo. Do you have any suggestions on how i can fix this?

Also notice that the odometer doesn't seem to record any mileage increase at all. When i press the reset button there seems to be a a slight click and the speedo needle jumps slightly. not sure if its supposed to do this.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Does the regular speedometer work correctly? If so, then this speedometer probably needs to be rebuilt/calibrated. If the odometer does not click off mileage, the the odometer plastic gears probably need replaced.

Speedometer reads low

I want to install my original circa 1979 300 KPH speedo.

I do know these are sensitive to even tire size changes.

I do wonder if at some point these loose their calibration.

For gear try odometergears.com, they sell a gear that’s made from graphite infused plastic that doesn’t require lubricant. They have terrific instructions and videos.
