Alternator Upgrade 76 Turbo
After owning my car for 36 years I am nervous as hell trusting the original alternator. Every other moving part on the car has been replaced. Mine has never given any clue that it could go but? Our host sells multiple alternators. Has anyone here added the higher output units? Also, adding back Ac after deleting it 34 years ago. Moving to south Florida soon so it becomes necessary.

I've never had any luck with "new" alternators. All Asian junk. Hopefully someone has a lead on where to get the good stuff.

There is a high output version which has been referred to on other threads.
Maybe a bit of a search in the 911 Tech forum will find it. You could always get your alternator rebuilt. Bearings, brushes new VR. Alan |

Alternators - WOSPerformance |
Several years ago, Jim Fairman posted a link to a eBay seller who sells high output alternators for our cars. He seamed quite happy with it. I ordered one and it definitely looks high quality but doesn’t fit my housing. Jim’s 930 was a 86 and mines a 81. Not sure if that’s why but I’ve read about people having to machine the housing down. 13.8mm if I remember correctly.

Is there a part number from WOSPerformance alternator that is a direct fit for the '76 930?
