Wow, end of an era!

Not an expert on auction sites, but the car looks extremely sorted, tidy and well-presented to me - GLWS!

I can share my experience from my case; I started with Porsche Facebook Groups, very good engagement until everyone realize that I could not sell my car for 50k to 60k as it appears everyone wants a one in a lifetime deal. So that was the end of that.
I then moved to Cars and Bits. To my shocking surprise they wanted to list my car with a completely unrealistic reserve pretty much down the numbers of the Facebook group. The explanation was that " it will go much higher" you list the car at 60k and the bid is $60,001 and the car is simply gone, so they are selling you an "Assumption " that " it" may go higher. Complete refusal to list my car because I did not agree to the low proposal.
BAT pretty much the same their way or the highway they offer higher reserve but not my number.
PCarMarket on the other hand agree to my reserve and were very helpful, down the lines of, is your car we roll with you. So here we are.
I don't understand why is a six day auction but it appears that all the action starts at the four minute mark before the auction ends, that part I still don't like but all seem to be the same way .
I hope this helps.

What is the cost of the pcarmarket? Bat is going to be $5100 so not cheap. It will get the exposure it deserves.

Incorrect statement.

The buyer pays 5% of the selling price up to a maximum of $5,000.

The seller pays only $99.

I've sold 3 cars and an engine on BaT so know the routine.

I think the key here is being able to set a reserve that won't have you crying yourself to sleep if it went for that much. And you've got that.

Long time ago, I got caught up in a bidding "red mist" on Flea Bay and paid a little too much (about $40 over) for something worth a few $100 bucks - as I belatedly realized after the auction was over. Thought it through and realized that bidding for the duration of the auction only drives the price up (good for the seller, but not the buyer), and the only bid that actually counted was the last/biggest.

After that, I would figure out ahead of time how much I really wanted to pay/what it was worth to me, figured out the "would I be ticked if it went for this much and I didn't get it" price, added some percentage like 10% for the emotional investment. And that was the price I'd bid. 6 seconds before the auction closed seemed to be the sweet spot, as it would run up auto-bid/sniping software to their set maximum - but not leave enough time for a human to react and (re-)enter a higher maximum...

Won many auctions like that, most for less (often far less) than my maximum bid. Missed a few - forgot, network glitch etc. - and some because other people wanted to pay more for that item than I thought it was worth. Like, shrug, whatever..

While at the time it was an unusual approach, seems a lot more people have figured that out now. It's not exactly rocket surgery... It means all the action happens in literally the last minute - and anyone bidding earlier is dreaming, naive or usually not serious anyway.

If bidding for the entire length of the auction is pretty dumb (and it really doesn't serve the buyer's interests at all), then the only useful function the duration of the auction serves is the # of eyeballs you can/will get on the item.

For a dedicated site and a special car that's well-presented, I'd say you should be fine - if you get to set a reserve you're happy with. If you happen to pick a time that your buyer (you only need one) has the money and is looking, then you're good. And, otherwise, you get to try again.

GLWS!

I'm shocked..not one bid?

Don't take this the wrong way, but when these cars are so highly developed and modified it swings the interest pendulum in the extreme opposite direction where a new prospective owner might be "concerned \ worried" maybe even overwhelmed how to work on in the future. Lots of owners are check book mechanics and many regular air cooled shops might not touch this car.

P-Car market is not a bad venue, but it just does not get the traffic or even exposure like BaT, I know I sound like a stuck record, but its true, even Hagerty now use BaT to adjust their vehicle values, it has almost become the industry standard. I understand you have your reasons listing it on there related to the reserve.

On top of that, any lookeyloos unfortunately do not know your A+ rep or even Eddie Bello's. Its a shame, if I was in the market, I would be flying to FL with a brief case full of paper and driving it home to Houston.

We are about to crash and burn. From Hero to Zero, then you have a LS1 911 abortion that everyone ones, that's how the cookie crumble. Unfortunately, I can't have BAT telling me what my reserve will be so perhaps next stop is Ebay or maybe the faith will be to have a fast garage queen.

While I'm sorry to see you moving on Juan, I also get it. Long admired you and your build and your results here, certainly paved the way for ohso many of us plebes!

I agree w/ your BaT reticence, it's frustrating but unfortunate reality. Can't agree more w/ all the sentiments above - that's a particular car to sell to a particular person, which requires a particular venue to broadcast toward. Annoying but true.

Your paint looks fookin SPECTACULAR (as does the whole damn build) - and the results speak for themselves. Stellar pics as well! It's realllllly great to hear you'll not settle for less than what you KNOW it is WORTH... someday somehow sometime, the right buyer will find you and it will all line up.

Just maybe not today.

Enjoy it in great WOT health until then sir!

(AND **LEGENDS** WILL NEVER BE A ZERO!!!!!!!!)

Really sad to see you go Juan. We have chatted over the years and you have inspired me to continue my project several times. Let's hop another Porsche is in your future, maybe a newer daily driver perhaps.
