K27-7200 RS Raptor

Hello all, sadly my DP (formerly Gumba's) is down and out with a major engine failure. Case is split and we will be starting from scratch on a new build. I am taking it in a different direction so the turbo is available. I know this is not a "for sale" forum but thought someone here might be interested before I put it up for sale to the masses.

Charlie at Evergreen rebuilt and modified it in July of 2020 about 7 months before Gumba's accident. Not sure how many miles Gumba put on it in that time but I have driven the car less than 400 miles in my stewardship. The receipt for the mods and rebuild from evergreen is below:

Gunba's personal info has been edited from the attached receipt to respect his family's privacy.

Thanks,
bob

Got a question by PM so to clarify - the engine had excessive crankcase pressurization and the worst leakdown I have ever seen. We pulled it apart and found that the compressions rings were shattered in every cylinder but the pieces stayed in the ring lands. Nothing got to the turbo. Turbine and compressor vanes are fine. Here is the other side:

Just curious what route you now have decided to go on the build :-)

Going with a set of 100 mm JE pistons and bumping the CR from 7:1 to 8:1, a lightened stroker crank and new rods to take it from 3.5 liters up to 3.8 liters, a Garrett G35 turbo, and Motec EFI. Also, since it is down and out for a while, I am modifying the chassis for a 911 G50 I have had sitting in a box for years. Gonna be a ton of work but it should be a whole lot more fun when it is finally done.

Wanted a DP since college....this one was not supposed to be a project car (famous last words according to my wife!). At least we caught the problem before the motor granaded.

Hello RSR racers,
I drive the same turbocharger as you from Charlie, I have now driven 5000 km and no problems.

That's a nice turbo, I talked to Charlie about one of these about a year ago.
