97mm vs 98mm cylinders
Hi,
After my total engine damage, I am now soon ready to building my new engine. Parts has been collected, new engine block + all internals. Will continue with stroke with the 964 crank. but still not sure on the route on cylinders. Currently I had JBR 98mm cylinders with JE pistons, CR at 8:1. But need 2 new cylinders as they was damaged. The cost for 2 new cylinders is expensive and then I could go for a new Mahle 98mm P/C kit - but still pricey. I have several mahle 3.3 P/C sets, so wonder if I should use them. They needs to be machined for flame ring, and probably taken some off the pistons to allow the GT2 cam profile. Since I will use the 964 crank, I will still be able to get 8:1 and even more in CR. Volume will then be at 3,35 and not 3.45 with the 98mm On a turbocharged engine, how much will one notice the difference in 100ccm ? Anyone that has compared before and after a dyno when only P/C has been changed?
